Avid reader here. I've read some good stuff the past month or so---

*****NOTE- I DID NOT WRITE ANY OF THE BOOK'S DESCRIPTIONS BELOW...STOLEN FROM THE NET******

"Holes"- Holes (1998) is a Newbery Medal-winning novel by Louis Sachar. It was adapted into a screenplay for the 2003 film by Walt Disney Pictures. In 2006, Sachar published Small Steps, a companion novel which is about one of the characters from Holes, Armpit

"Angels and Demons"- Angels & Demons is a 2000 bestselling mystery-thriller novel written by American author Dan Brown and published by Pocket Books. The novel introduces the character Robert Langdon, who is also the protagonist of Brown's subsequent 2003 novel, The Da Vinci Code, and 2009 novel, The Lost Symbol.

"Timequake"- Timequake is a semi-autobiographical work by Kurt Vonnegut, Jr. published in 1997. Vonnegut described the novel as a "stew", in which he alternates between summarizing a novel he had been struggling with for a number of years, and waxing nostalgic about various events in his life.

"To kill a Mockingbird"- To Kill a Mockingbird is a novel by Harper Lee published in 1960. It was instantly successful, winning the Pulitzer Prize, and has become a classic of modern American literature. The plot and characters are loosely based on the author's observations of her family and neighbors, as well as on an event that occurred near her hometown in 1936, when she was 10 years old.

"Oh the Places You Will Go"- Oh, the Places You'll Go! (ISBN 978-0-679-80527-4) is a book written and illustrated by children's author Dr. Seuss. It was first published by Random House on January 22, 1990, making it his last book published before his death. The book concerns life and its challenges.

Anyone else read?

Angels and Demons was good, I'm guessing you read it after reading the Davinci Code?  I'm currently reading the 3rd book of the series, the Lost Symbol.  Decent read so far.

Try Digital Fortress when you're done with that one.  I'm not a huge Brown fan but DF was pretty good.

Want the best Sci Fi read of the post Y2K era?  Spin by Robert Charles Wilson

Digital Fortress was really well thought out.  I liked it a lot better than Deception Point.
I also liked DaVinci Code and Angels & Demons better than Lost Symbol.  It left me a bit disappointed.  I expected more.

rading We Were Soldiers Once, and Young now... not bad, for that kind of book
I read a good bit, mostly SciFi or Fantasy, occasionally mystery and historical (fiction and non-fiction)
A lot of Tom Clancy, and WEB Griffin...

I don't read.
I don't read books in print.  I get them on CD and listen to them in my car on trips.  They pass the time really well and I don't have to look for radio stations along the way (no, Sirus Radio is not an option I'm interested in).

Again...I feel books, being Ray Charles's illegitimate son? (via Helen Keller--they hooked-up--long story)..they make me wear sun glasses at night.

But I have a big smile and can sing and dance a bit...
...until I fall down--'cause I'm blind.

Being blind sucks..I don't have access to the latest books because it sometimes takes months before they stamp them in braille.

I also have a tendency to walk into traffic and misspelled words.

I agree with you on Sirius.  We had Sirius for a few years and found I only liked a few stations.  I got tired of those stations quickly because they played the same playlist over and over.  On the comedy channels, if you listened to them on a regular basis, you find that it's the same old stuff over and over.  I'm all for pay radio to get rid of the commercials, but most of Sirius' stations have ads too. Thumbs Up
