What an amazing capsule we ride in.  I wrecked my motorcycle a week ago....  Banged up my knees pretty good.  I am one that wears my gear no matter the weather (helmet, gloves, riding coat, jeans, and boots) so no worries there, did scratch up my helmet in a couple spots.  I'm just amazed how well I've been able to bounce back.  Granted I was very fortunate not to break anything.  My right knee got the worst of it and I was on crutches up until yesterday.  I would say my knee is about 70 percent.  Though I was happy to bowl a 181, 220, 218 last night!  Luckily my left leg is my plant leg lol.

It is amazing, isn't?  I might have designed knees a bit differently, but overall, the system is a good one.

I've been in several bike wrecks, years ago; always surprised me, too...
and good thing to always wear your gear! A prior roommate and I used to keep a wall of shame, 37 helmets from wreck survivors...
I wore one that the face piece had ground off- could've been my jaw!

I ate the windshield going about 50 mph and was ejected from the passenger seat through the open window. I was able to get up and walk back to the car.

The 75 foot poplar tree we hit wasn't so lucky! :-)

Let's see if you feel the same way when you get older and your body starts to break down.   laugh

On the subject of the human body, I recently finished a book called:  The Brain That Changes Itself.   It's about neuroplasticity and talks about case studies where the brain rewired itself, whereas scientists previously thought our brains were set.  Quite interesting and written for the lay person like myself.

Yeah my knees are probably the most banged up.  Shoulders got jammed pretty good too.  Still just being able to walk away from it makes me happy.

I already deal with aches and pains on a daily basis Blu, I can just imagine what it'll be like when I'm in my 40's and beyond. lol

Wait, you know how to read a book?
