I still waver on this issue daily, mainly when someone cuts me off in traffic.  But when I see a story like this below, I can't bring myself to agreeing with this contentious (yet satisfying), form of justice. 

I'm not saying, in this particular case, it would have come to this decision, but there are plenty of other examples where we see justice has failed.   I think I'd rather have criminals go free than innocents punished, and especially when we're talking about extremes.

It wouldn't be irresponsible to ask for the death penalty in some cases.

the only issue i have is that we if we do that to the wrong person .

Me too! 

Read the article, and it reminds me of a similar case here in Colorado...  A young man 18 years old, at the time, was convicted of murder even with a strong lack of evidence.  The Jury convicted him based on drawings he had done.  He lost 10-12 years of his life, and he looked nothing like you'd expect a 28-30 year old to look.  Also he was awarded quite the settlement for his wrongful imprisonment.
