So helping out our soldiers is bad. Honoring specific soldiers from three different wars for great sacrifices they made is wrong such as Navy Seal Marcus Lattrell a personal hero of mine. Read his book if you get a chance to learn what he has done for us. Trying to get Americans to live their lives more honestly is bad. Bringing together many different races such as Alveda King the niece of Martin Luther King is bad. Bringing together religious leader from a dozen different religions is bad.
The rally had nothing to do with politics of what freedoms were taken away. Which I would be happy to discuss in another post of the many that are gone.
People make mistakes but just because they are conservatives does not mean they are perfect. They make mistakes move forward and try to do better the next time. That does not make them hypocrites. That said I have lost respect for Newt a long time a go. Sarah Palin does what she preaches. She has raised a son who has served with honor in the military. Her daughter has made mistakes but please let me know what family is perfect. And I never heard Sarah Palin suggest you should live your life the way she does. She is proud of her beliefs and has no problem expressing them. And im a atheist so nothing any of them has said about their religion has given me the feeling they are trying to force it on me. I just respect their values and try to live my life in that fashion.
I too, am glad to meet you ssvs04.  What I'm saying about this bunch of hypocrites is they find fault with others and claim the others are ruining our country, are unpatriotic, etc., only to make themselves look like they are saving us from the same fate as Rome.  Fear, fear, fear.  I'm offended that they paint the entire group of people who might disagree with them as anti-freedom or anti-military.  What is Glen Beck's military record?  How about Newt Gringrich? Rush Limbaugh? Karl Rove?  Sarah Palin's husband?  They like to go to these rallies and speak of the soldier, marine or seaman "they talked to", and that makes them a real pro-military hero.  Hell, I don't have to say I know a military person, I WAS a military person.  They try to paint people who want peace as some sort of anti-American socialist.  This is Palin's favorite line.  She is very vague on what they would do, but always knows better than those who think differently.  These people are out to make money by selling books or TV commercials by tearing this country apart.  Even if Palin or Beck were president, the Constitution would prohibit them from doing much of what they promote.  As for the crowds at this rally, there was less than 100k attending.  I've seen bigger crowds leaving a Rolling Stones concert at the Gator Bowl.  Believe what you want, but if these people get what they say they are for, they will be quickly voted out of office.  They will either moderate their stance or they will quickly be recognized for the b/s they have spread.  Their message is not new.  It's been brought up many times in our history.  Red baiting, McCarthyism, George Wallace, Strom Thurman, etc.  They make a lot of noise and then just seem to fade away....thank God!

Are you kidding? It's actually much bigger. Now you're saying Glen Beck's rally had more people than the Promise Keeper's rally? That's ridiculous. You should study the two areas a little better.

Here's some real evidence that shows Beck's rally to the left and the Promise Keeper's rally to the right. (outlined in yellow)

I guess we could go back and forth all day on this. The picture you posted shows them all confined in that one area. Glenns rally went beyond what you marked on the left and right side and all the way to the Washington Monument.  Your turn wave

Are you trying to say there were people behind the Lincoln Memorial? Beck's crowd thins out way before the Monument in all pictures; actually at the WWII Memorial. It even thins out in the grassy areas. Most of the map in Beck's area is the reflecting pond. The Peacekeeper's rally picture goes from the monument all the way to the capitol, nearly three times the size and there's no reflecting poolin the center. Look, it's all in the picture.

SSVS,

Hello, do we know you or are you a random sign up?  It doesn't matter either way, just curious.  Your nik is very similar to a previous member, that's why I ask.

If Beck's people were down by the monument it's because they strayed away from the crowd to see the monument.  So you know, 501 and I are form the area and we're down in that area all the time.  We know it well.

It was more like 600,000 and the million man march had 200,000. Actually it was the largest group of people in history to come to a rally produced by a individual. And I have to say it was a great event. The military love this man and yet the left hate him. I always know im on the right side when men and women in uniform support something.

I don't hate him, I mostly think he's silly.

Why would military personnel liking a thing make it correct?  The majority of military personnel are practically babies who aren't qualified to recommend one yogurt over another much less make judgments about complicated societal mechanisms like political philosophies.  It's good that they wear uniforms because most of them aren't yet past the phase where Mommy had to pick out matching clothes every morning.

Glenn Beck isn't changing any opinions, he merely repeats the existing opinions of a group of Americans.  Those Americans would have those opinions with or without Glenn Beck.  He's unimportant.  Just another AM radio sideshow like Limbaugh and Hannity.  That group of Americans tends to like the talk radio format.  Probably because they move their lips when they read and it's embarrassing.

I believe he's an actor much like Bill Maher. He has alot of opinions and while some of them may be true alot of them are FALSE. Many people hear him repeat A truth and then believe every word he says to be the truth. He's rallying the troops and building up to election day for his supporting representatives. He's doing a good job and gaining support for the Tea Party.

I'll be watching the Tea Party closely this fall and how Conservatives and Liberals counter their movement. It has been interesting to watch so far.

Well I can see im a minority here. Each person serves their community in a different way. So was Jefferson any less important in history because he didnt serve in the military but supported them. I think most would say no. No they paint people who think we can reason with terrorists and such people idiots. They paint people socialists who think they now what is best for my health and money. These people are tearing the country apart not conservatives. Yes Glenn is only out to make money thats why he pays for his own team of researchers at a net loss out of his own pocket. Thats why he spent millions of his own money for the rally. Thats why he donates 20% of his sallery to charity. Thats why he made sure 5 million dollars got to special operation foundation for the rally. He does what he does because he loves this country even if you dont agree with his view. If you want to believe it was that number people more power to you. I know the truth. Believe me if the Tea Party gets in power it will change the course of this country. People are sick of entitlements bankrupting the country. Their sick of illegals stealing from us to only get a pass. This kind of thinking from the libs pisses of my spanish wife who came here from Ecuador followed all the laws interviews, thousands upon thousands of dollars to only be spit on by our corrupt government who looks the other way when illegals break our laws. Fade away we have just gotten started!

He does try to inject humor into what he does. The country is in sad shape so its a relief to have a little humor with whats going on. Please I would love to know what you consider false from Glenn.

Well im a Tea Party supporter and a conservative and make it a point to photograph them in central Florida. Its going to be a good election cleaning house of the rhino fake republicans.

There's so many. Beck is an entertainer and not a journalist. He is exciting people by glamorizing the truth.

The SEALS are a couple of guys.  The majority of the United States military falls within the 19-23 age demographic.

Trained and mature are two entirely different concepts.  The vast majority of the US military is very well trained, but not mature.  Maturation isn't a thing that can be taught, that's why these are two entirely different concepts.

The so-called Tea party is nothing more than proof that the Republican party is at civil war.  The fact that they want us to call them "tea-baggers" shows just how out of touch with mainstream society these people are.  How can you claim to represent the proletariat if you cannot even speak their language?

There is only one way to support the troops, pay your taxes.  By doing so you are literally supporting the troops.  All the rallys and five dollar bumper stickers and flags made in China don't add up to a single paycheck.  You want to support the troops?  Give them a raise.
