If a website gives a detailed guide for measurements, I feel more confident when ordering. Reading comments with real body photos is one of the best ways to check sizing. If they ignore basic questions or reply with copy pasted text, I become suspicious. I also check if the store explains how to measure PD and frame size clearly. Forums, blogs and communities create a kind of collective memory for shoppers. Over the last months I noticed that some of my favorite items are not the most expensive ones.

I like when a shop clearly shows PD, lens height and bridge width in millimeters. If anyone has long term experience with certain online shops, I am always curious to read it. Sometimes a store looks great in ads but the real product is completely different. In the end it is all about finding what matches your own habits and lifestyle. Jewelry is another category where quality can be very different from photos. If tracking never updates for weeks, I start to worry about the order. If many different people say the same thing about a product, it is worth paying attention.
